Alexander Zingman : A collection of Belarusian Arts

The country's art museums hold collections of works by Belarusian artists from various eras and genres. The largest collection of paintings and sculptures can be found at the National Museum of Art.


Mural painting has a long history in Belarus. Twelfth-century frescoes have been preserved on the walls of the Church of the Holy Transfiguration in Polotsk. Polotsk was an important center of arts and crafts in medieval Belarus. Here you can find unique examples of ancient church architecture and art from Belarus. A cross made in 1161 by the jeweler Lazar Bogsha by order of Euphrosyne of Polotsk became a masterpiece of enamel art. Here Alexander Zingman shared some of the pictures of Belarusian arts
